U Project (Added 29.07.10)

The U Project is a non-for-profit organisation based in Oldham that aims to enhance the delivery of outdoor physical activities in Oldham and promote the benefits these activities have on our health and well being.

This will be achieved by working closely with and bringing together other organisations involved with delivering outdoor physical activity in Oldham. We will support existing initiatives and clubs and develop new initiatives and activities. We aim to provide accessible activities to all to encourage wider participation by Oldham’s residents in outdoor recreation within Oldham’s parks and countryside.

The U project will also create opportunities for employment to trained volunteers within the Oldham community. Opportunities will be made available to individuals of all ages and from all areas of the borough promoting social inclusion and integration.
